We had so much fun doing this! We got lots of books out and created roads in the lounge out of them. All the roads joined but there were several different ones going in different directions. There was also a bit of a hill on one of them made by using some of the books as ramps. I had been looking for another way to explore ramps after our success with this before.
We did several different things with the roads:
- drove cars around them
- looked to see what would happen if the books were different heights
- had races with different sized cars
- invented a slightly random game with cars falling off the ramp and the ambulance, fire engine and helicopter coming to rescue the driver.

My 21 month old has just started lining up his books, but I never thought to drive cars on them. Will try tomorrow!
